Well id like to start off by saying that this year was a blast full of ups, downs and overall new experiences. As for AMP i found it to be a very intriguing method of teaching. However i don’t believe AMP/TAG was simply limited to teaching, it has evolved into a journey of self discovery, an adventure if i may. Some people were immediately jump on board and begin while others where not quite as prehensile me being the latter. This leads me to a question that seems to hang in the air for every one, was this (the Mac Lab, AMP, Media Art) just another class that some people got who others didn’t? Is this something that will soon be forgotten as we move on, pursuing our lives in other career fields? Was this nothing but another year of high school under our belts and in the past? I Believe that answer is simply no.
Well what can i say, AMP is one of the most intriguing things I’ve “happened upon” this year and i believe that it very well could become an innovation of the future…with a little modification. AMP is like a a piece of coal and with a little refinment i believe that it could be a beautiful diamond one day. From my personal experience the raw version of AMP works only for a select few, while a select few picked it up like a fish to water, many of us began to sink. I believe that what Amp requires most is but a smudge more guidance, a Dumbledore to our Harry Potter, a Gandalf to our Frodo. I believe that if we can come together as a unit and work on making AMP the best that it can be, that it can blossom into something amazing. In the words of the late great Albus Dumbledore “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
TAG was a genius idea that captivated me from the start. The thought of turning a boring class into a fun adventure. I real like it got so many people into learning. I saw slackers become workers, me being one of them. I loved feeling like an adventurer, like i was beginning a journey that would lead to so much more. Although I didn’t learn much as far as computers go, i did learn so much about myself and how to live my lie to the fullest.
ZIM though a great idea can never exist in harmony, the fact that there is so many part to this machine leads to the fact that gears are going to grind. There are to many different people with different ideologies. In a perfect world we could all coexist but the fact of the matter is we live in an imperfect world with a variety of people and ideals.
