| step 1: Watch the movie first. (Figure A) Open masking_basics.fla, click on the Mask keyframe, select the Rectangle Tool, set the Stroke to none, and draw a rectangle as shown. Control-Click on the Mask Layer, select Mask from the contextual menu, and watch the magic happen. (We'll go over the details in class.) | ||||

| step 3: Unlocking the layers lets us see and work on the mask and or masked layers. Click on the Outline icon to reveal what's behind the rectangle (our mask) then reverse the steps as shown. (Figure C) | ||||
