description: In this tutorial you will learn how to use the Fill Transform Tool to animate a gradient.

Files: The fill_transform.fla file is in the fla_files folder.
   
 
   
  step 1: Create an object with a gradient fill (or openfill_transform.fla) and watch the following movie. (Figure A) Select the Fill Transform Tool (F) and click on the object's fill (it must be a gradient fill). Experiment with the handles as show to discover what they do.

  step 2: Insert a keyframe further down the line, click on the first keyframe, and set the Tween to Shape. Click on the second keyframe and reposition the Fill Transform center point as shown. (Figure B)

  step 4: Remember that the object doesn't have to be smaller than your stage. (Figure D)
