Inserting QuickTime Movies

You can export Flash as QuickTime if you don't have a movie to insert

Here's a short clip from a longer movie

Click on the Media tab and use the Plugin button to insert your QuickTime file

Navigate to your file

And a little plugin icon appears in your Dreamweaver document

The Properties Panel reflects the default size (32 x 32)

To fix this you must open your QuickTime movie (unless you already know the exact size of the movie)

Get Movie Properties (Command-J)

Select Size from the pull-down menu

In this example the width is 350 pixels, the height is 200 pixels

Enter the width in the Properties Panel and hit the tab key

Your movie changes to reflect the new width

Enter the height PLUS 16 pixels and hit the return key (or tab or enter)

The extra 16 pixels is for movie controller

Your movie is now resized correctly

To test it, click on the Play button

You should see your movie play

Click Stop

Click Parameters... (you MUST complete this step)

The Parameters dialog box opens

Type autoplay as shown

Press the tab key and type false

Hit return to set the value and click OK (or hit return a second time)

Now your movie won't start playing until the Play button is clicked

That's it. You did it!
