Dreamweaver MX Inserting an Image

Now you will replace the text on your index page with an image

In your folder (inside the hard drive) there is a picture of you in the 02_pics folder (or 03, 04, 05, or 06_pics)

Do not open your picture—just drag it (the .jpg icon) onto the Photoshop icon on the desktop

This is the easiest way to open your picture in Photoshop

Once open, Shift-Option-Command-S to Save for Web... (or use the menu shown below)

Your picture will open in the dialog box (below)

Take a few minutes to adjust your settings to match those below

Click OK (or hit Return)

Navigate to your Website folder and click on the New Folder button

Name your folder images (no caps, remember?)

Before you save your image, be sure to have no caps, spaces, or odd characters in the file name

Quit Photoshop

When you do, you'll see this dialog box—click Save (or hit Return)

Double-click on your index.html icon in the Site Window

Highlight all of your text

Hit Delete

Click on the Align Center icon in the Properties Panel

Click on the Image icon in the Insert Panel

Navigate to your image and Open it

It drops into the table on your index page

Congratulations! You did it

Save your file but keep it open so we can insert a link to the next page
