Dreamweaver MX Your First Table

First, if you happened to name your file anything other than index.html you need to rename it (in the Site Window)

All Homepages are named index.html

If it bothers you, it bothered me too the first time I built a Website but that's just the way the Web works

Okay, back to our tutorial

Click on the Table icon in the Insert Panel

Change the settings in the Insert Table dialog box to match those shown below

Make sure the width is set to Percent not Pixels

Position your cursor as shown below (inside the table)

When you click the Properties Panel will change

Click and...

The Properties Panel tells us what's going on

Let's change two of the default settings

Change the Horizontal (Horz) and Vertical (Vert) to Left and Top as shown

Don't change anything else yet!
