Import Video (for 3D)

Preparing Your Projects to be Loaded Dynamically

This tutorial will teach you how to import (and edit) your 3D movies into Flash.

1 – Download this starter file. The stage is 480 x 360, the frame rate is 30 fps, and the preloader is pre built for you. Sheesh! Can I make this any easier?

2 – Open the starter file (preloader_play.fla), File > Save As to rename it, select the Blank Keyframe on Frame 2 of the "movies" layer, And File > Import Video as shown. When the import is complete, be sure to set the X and Y coordinates to 0.0 so that the movie is positioned correctly on the stage. When the import is complete, Insert a Blank Keyframe after the 1st movie and File > Import Video to select your second movie.

Note:  I began with my 3rd and 8th clips because I'd previewed my movies and decided the most interesting order to be: 3, 8, 7, 1, 4, 5, 9, 2, 6. Don't just add your clips without a bit of planning and forethought. Take some pride in your work!

3 – After the second clip is finished importing, be sure to once again set the X and Y coordinates to 0.0 so that the movie is positioned correctly on the stage. Insert another Blank Keyframe after the second movie and import the next clip. If you need to edit the length of your clip this movie shows you how to do that in Flash.

4 – And that's all there is to it! Finish importing your clips and you'll end up with your own masterpiece. Here's my little example.
