Motion Guides

The Basics

Motion Guides enable you to animate movement along curved or angled lines. Give this simple version a shot.

NOTE: You'll have to pay attention to detail in the movies if you want your animation to work

1 – Create an object you want to animate and follow the bouncing cursor to get started

2 – Zoom in and use the Free Transform tool to help the car turn with the curves (and don't forget to Orient to Path)

3 – Tweak the position and Center of Rotation to make the car travel on the surface of the road

4 – Learn a trick to fill in the hillside with grass

5 – We're going to be creating physical background layers in preparation for loading dynamic content. To that end, our stage will always begin black and then the color(s) of the background will be drawn on the lowermost layer as shown -- NO STROKES!

Challenge

After you create the simple Motion Guide project you might want to try something a little more challenging. Confused about how to build it? Here's the source files.
