Week 17 DPE (67)

Week 17 DPE (67)

Do you notice something different, Visitor?

Well, whether you do or don't, you better pay attention because the DPE self assessment has changed.

Your success in the Mac Lab, as has been said many times already, relies on playing by the rules and trying your best.

One Big Rule: Document your work—as instructed—each week in a timely manner.

The loot for this quest—272 XP + 73 Gold—reflects the critical importance of your digital portfolio.

The bonus loot in Stage 4 can increase that total to 522 XP + 223 Gold.

Visitor: Please watch this message from the Boss.

Moral: Resistance is futile ... and expensive! :P

Please watch this NEW Week 17 video.

IMPORTANT: Visitor, you've had plenty of time to learn to use your digital portfolio platform. Now it's time to begin using it with a sense of purpose.

⇒ TITLE:

  • Use the Week's number (as the Boss does in the 411) to help others understand the context of the documentation

⇒ IMAGERY:

  • You must include minimum of one original image (1500 px max) or embedded video (that you created)—even if it's incomplete and just a work in progress.
  • NEW ⇒ You should include images for everything you worked on.

⇒ WEEK IN REVIEW:

  • Add details of what you did, what you learned, how you succeeded, how you failed (fails happen all the time—celebrate and learn from them). Be specific.

⇒ SELF-GUIDED LEARNING:

  • Document and link to third-party resources that you used and reflect on how you used or plan to use the resources.
  • At this point you should be using third-party resources for independent learning each week.

⇒ CHEAT SHEET:

  • Create a link on your DPE entry to your Cheat Sheet page.
  • See the Cheat Sheet quest  and the Week 16 DPE quest for more details.

NEW ⇒ SHORTER-TERM GOAL:

  • Set a short-term goal (1–2 weeks) for yourself in the Mac Lab.
  • Be specific and make it meaningful and relevant to your work in the Mac Lab.
  • Reflect in successive weeks: Did I make good progress? Did I achieve my short-term goal? Should I establish a new short-term goal? Why or why not. Be honest.
  • You must always have and work toward a specific short-term goal.

NEW ⇒ LONGER-TERM GOAL:

  • Set a longer-term goal (1–2 months) for yourself in the Mac Lab.
  • Be specific and make it meaningful and relevant to your work in the Mac Lab.
  • Reflect in successive weeks: Did I make any progress? Is my long-term goal still relevant? Should I refine my goal or even establish a different long-term goal? Why or why not. Be honest.
  • You must always have and work toward a specific long-term goal.

⇒ ADDITIONAL HEADINGS:

  • Optional: Feel free to add your own personal touches.

⇒ OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attribution: Links to third party resources you used is always required
  • Internal Links: Open in same tab/window*
  • Image Links: open in Lightbox or a new tab/window*
  • External Links: Open in new tab/window*

*The Boss is holding off on enforcing these... for now. It would be nice if you made an honest effort to meet those goals.

⇒ SELF-ASSESSMENT:

  • Address all of the prompts (above).
  • Use the self-assessment loot you claimed in Stage 4 to justify your self-assessment.

WARNING: False claims are expensive. See stage 4 for details.
